Majority rule
From Mrs A. C. Bramwell
Sir: The unrepentant Humphry Berkeley, having played a major role in destroying British power and prestige abroad, and the morale of English people in this country, has, quite predictably, deemed this the right moment to administer the coup de grace to those who would be loyal to us in Ulster.
It is less than astonishing that a man who shouted 'Hear, hear', and thumped the table so vigorously at the dictum, "One man, one vote, no Independence before majority rule," should find the prospect repugnant in Ulster. Yet does he imagine that a properly elected independent Ulster would deal with its minority less well than the Congolese dealtwith the Belgians, or the Black Power boys of Rhodesia with the white settlers?
