An, Outline of Legal Philosophy. By W. A. Watt, MA.

(T. and T. Clark.)—To follow this book throughout would be to touch on many questions which cannot be discussed in these columns,— theories of law, its development, Roman, moditeval, and modern, national and international, the doctrine of ivaltraets, the nature of

punishment, and not a few others. Mr. Watt gives a sketch of the whole subject, laying down the outline in a way that will serve as a useful introduction to more detailed study.
