Poets AU. By John A. Bridges. (Ward and Downey.)—There is
certainly some humour in the idea of writing a novel in which all the dramatis personcs shall be minor poets, even though it is not carried out exactly. The reader will not expect any very skilfully-contrived plot, or look to be kept in an agonising sus. pense ; but he will find a generally agreeable volume with some clever sketches, the originals of which it is not difficult to identify —the unappreciated poet, for instance, who crosses the Channel in the hope of finding a more sympathetic audience than he has met with in his own country.
