• We are glad to be able to record a

slight improvement in the condition of the Pope. The disease is now stated to be bronchial pneumonia. In spite of this improvement, however, and the fact that the disease does not in itself seem to be of a very acute kind, grave concern is evidently felt as to the patient's general condition owing to his advanced age and weakness.
