ENCOURAGING TRADE FIGURES.
Although there may be no sensational growth in our Exports, the figures for March are fairly encouraging, espe- cially if the curtailment of .world trade is taken into con- sideration. The month of March, of course, contained two more working days than in. the previous month, but the increase of about £2,000,000 in our Exports is sufficiently satisfactory. Moreover, when comparison is made with the same month in la:st year, there is also an increase of nearly £2,000,000. Still more striking,. however, is the fact that for the past quarter the 'value of our Exports shows an increase of nearly £10,000,000 over the same period of last year and of about £17,000,000 over the first three months of 1933.
