Both are books of the highest authority, written in clear and simple language, which may be strongly commended to the lay reader.-Professor H. W. Shimer's Introduction to the Study of Fossils (Macmillan and Co., 10s. 6d. net) is based on fifteen years' experience in teaching palaeontology to American students.
