The enrichment of our language proceeds apace, though in this
particular instance adoption from the French (or the imagined French) may be only in an early stage. Inhabitants of Brighton had the opportunity last week of admiring " England's Premier Strippeuse—Pauline Penny." I have no doubt she is charming, though no reports on that have reached me. But it seems a little odd that the column containing this announcement should be headed " What's On! " " On " hardly seems to be the mot juste.
