We have omitted to notice at the proper time among
the gift-books of the season a very handsome volume, The Birthday-book of Flower and Song. Compiled by Alicia Amy Leith. (Routledge.)—Each day has two or three passages, chosen from the best English poets, and chosen, we should say, from such inspection as we have been able to give, with good judgment. These days occupy a page, and the opposite leaf is a blank, on which the names of friends whose birthdays happen to fall on these days may be written. Each month has an appropriate floral illustration, prettily executed by the author herself. This would make a very elegant and acceptable gift-book.
