M. Emil Fuchs, the well-known sculptor and painter, has committed
suicide after a• long' illness. 'Born in •1866, he designed the coins and postage stamps of King Edward's reign. He also painted portraits of Queen Victoria, King Edward and the present King and Queen. His work, always skilful, was marked by a formal discretion. He left London soon after the War broke out and was not heard of till he published his autobiography, which contained among other things a vivid description of the death of Queen Victoria.
