Six,—To avoid possible misunderstanding, I should like to make it dear that the article on " Cologne Night Life," published in your issue of June z8th, refers to conditions 'during last February, before the normal consumer's ration was reduced to 1,050 calories per day. The statement in the third paragraph of the article, " But people don't look particularly unhappy or even underfed—yet," is now no longer • true—at least as regards under-feeding.
