The Proctors of the University of Oxford were expected to

meet yesterday, and to put their veto on the discussion of the propositions respecting Dr. HAMPDEN, intended to be brought forward in Convoca- tion. The Doctor has delivered a temperate and learned defence of his orthodoxy, in the shape of an inaugural address.
