There was yesterday a meeting at Liverpool to get up

a requisition to the Mayor for a meeting to back Mr. Layard's motion for Administrative Reform. Somewhere about two dozen attended ; Mr. W. Rathbone pre- sided "with reluctance"; and the meeting adjourned without coming to any conclusion whatever.
