Tam prominent action of the Court this week—the presentation of medals by the Queen in person to the officers and soldiers entitled to them for theirservices in the Crimea—was performed yesterday, at the parade- ground behind the Horse Guards. Her Majesty, accompanied by Prince Albert, arrived on the ground and took her place at eleven o'clock ; and as the soldiers and sailors, headed by the Duke of Cambridge, marched past, she delivered to each a medal—four hundred in all. The ceremony lasted until half-past twelve; when the Queen and Prince Albert returned to Buckingham Palace.
Her Majesty, Prince Albert, and the Duke of Saxe-Coburg, visited the Crystal Palace on Saturday ; the Horticultural Fête at Gore House, Ken- sington, on Wednesday ; and the Italian Opera on Saturday and Tues- day. The Queen and Prince Albert visited the Countess de Neuilly, at Claremont, on Thursday. Prince Albert presided over the Council of the Duchy of Cornwall on Monday. - Count Walewski, the late French Ambassador, took leave of the Queen, at Buckingham Palace, on Tuesday. The week's list of her Majesty's guests includes Prince Ernest of Leiningen, Count and Countess Walewski, the Countess of Lucan, Sir Charles and Lady Mary Wood, the Duchess of Sutherland, the Duke of Buccleuch, the Earl of Aberdeen, the Duke of Cambridge, Le Conseiller Samwer, and the Baron de Treskow.
