Society.)—This is a republication of papers which appeared in the Leisure Hour. The darkness that used to enshroud the editorial offices of a newspaper has disappeared. The names of the chiefs and of the principal contributors of every notable news- paper are well known. How long will it be before they are also formally published ? This is a very readable and, as far as we can estimate it, judicious volume.
