The Importance of Being Clement
SIR,—In the Spectator of October 12th Mr. Wilson Harris refers to the Importance of Being Anthony. I suggest that there is a deeper moral to be learnt from the contemporary political scene. It is surely signifi- cant that the leaders of the Labour and Liberal Parties were both christened Clement. The leader of the third great party married a lady of the name of Clementine. What do these facts point to but the vital Importance ot Being Clement ?—Yours, M. T. C. Horsham.
