(W. Allan and Co.) A Grammar of the French L'reguage. First Part —" Accidence." By Henri van Latin. (1Britbner and Co.)—The first of these works is an old favourite. Within the compass of one volume is contained a French reader, a grammar, an exercise-book, and a diction- ary. Other practical teachers have expressed a wish to have the accidence, the syntax, and the exercises on these two subdivisions pub- lished separately, and M. van Latin, the French master in the classical department of Cheltenham College, here supplies them with the first instalment of such a work. Both publications seem to be carefully executed, and to leave the lovers of unification and division respectively nothing to desire.
