The Executive Committee of the Unionist Committees which is considering
the reform of the House of Lords unanimously decided on Tuesday that deadlocks between the two Houses ought to be submitted to a Referendum. This is excellent news. The Referendum is the most comprehensive safeguard any nation could possibly have.. Without deviations or possibility of misunderstanding it takes the task of deciding to the final court—the of the people. If we have the Referendum the Parlia- ment Act can safely stay as it is. After years of waiting, we are now confident that the Referendum is on the, high road to acceptance.
