Mr David HEAP, of 23 Greenwood, Kendal, Cumbria, Headmaster of King Edward VII School, Lytham, 1982-93, and previously Headmaster of Handsworth Grammar School, Birming- ham, who died on Feb. 23rd last, aged 53, left estate valued at £189,512 gross, £188,383 net. He left bequests of effects and 63.5% of the residue to personal legatees, 15% of the residue to King Edward VII School, Lytham, firstly as an addition to the Donovan Travel Scholarship, secondly for an annual prize for achievement in outdoor pur- suits and/or classics and/or history, and thirdly for the promotion of outdoor pursuits and field studies and/or the extension to the Ribble Head Centre, possibly for use as a drying room, 5% of the residue to Handsworth Grammar School, Birmingham, to endow a prize in his name, 3.5% of the residue each to William Hulme Grammar School, Manchester, and Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton, 3% of the residue to the Cave Rescue Organisation, Clapham, North Yorks, 2.5% of the residue to the RNLI, and 2% of the residue each to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
