No. 525: Octet
COMPETITION
Set by E. 0. Parrott: With the Olympics now officially at an end, it is perhaps time to reflect that while most of our national sports have received their due homage in verse, there are many minor national games so far uncelebrated. Competitors are invited to write an octet hymn- ing Shove Ha'penny, Skittles, Darts, Bingo, the Sack Race or whatever in the style of any poet past or present. Maximum eight lines and entries, marked 'Competition No. 525,' by 11 November.
