The Norwich Mercury of this day mentions the committal of
a man, William Skipper, for setting fire to a hay-stack belonging to a butcher : he had just been discharged from St. Faith's Workhouse, near which the stack stood; and he avowed that he set fire to the stack, in order that he might burn the house down, "that he might no longer be in it, to be fed on bread and water."
