Prevention.—We welcome the first number of a new quarterly periodical
entitled Prevention, the organ of the National Social Purity Crusade, and published by them (Craven House, Kingsway, W.C., fid.) No doubt there will be differences of opinion in regard to certain of the articles, but taken as a whole the paper should have the support of all who care for the maintenance of sound public morals. We are glad to see that those responsible for Prevention evidently mean to keep the question of "poisonous literature" well before the public. There is, for example, a striking quota- tion from a circular which the Italian Prime Minister has addressed to the local authorities throughout Italy, energetically drawing their attention to pornographic literature and the evils it produces.
