SIR,—I for one welcome Mr. Johnstone's letter. On the one
hand we are told that our airmen aim only at military objectives, and the small damage done to the cathedral of Cologne is even held up as a proof of their skill and care ; on the other our spokesmen boast of acres and even square miles of houses blotted out and of thousands of civilians killed or made homeless. Are we following the German example against which we protested in 1940-I? If so, the fact ought to be plainly admitted by the Government and the reasons given. Let us, at least, know where we stand and what is being done in our name.—Yours truly,
52 Avenue Road, Highgate, London, N. 6. J. F. MOZLEY.
