In addition to those walks and drives which are matters of routine, her Majesty, accompanied by Prince Albert, the Prince of Wales, the Prin- cess Royal, and the Princess Alice, visited the Arctic ship Resolute, in Cowes harbour. Captain Hartstein, the American officer who .brought the Resolute, Colonel Foster, commanding the Engineers at Portsmouth, and Captain Denman R.N., dined with her Majesty on Tuesday. The Queen has visited Newport, to inspect the monument to the Princess Elizabeth, daughter of Charles the First, the work of Baron Marochetti, which has been set up in Newport Church by her Majesty's command. The Maharajah Dhuleep Singh has been a visitor at Osborne. The Queen will, as usual, spend the Christmas holidays at Windsor Castle. Yesterday, her Majesty, accompanied by Prince Albert and the children, quitted Osborne, and arrived at Windsor between two and threc o'clock.
