LOW-LIFE GOODIES

SIR,-- I am surprised that Clifford Hanley could corn- Pile a list of Glasgow low-life goodies -which did not include the mutton pie. As one who has lived no long in London I miss the old mutton pie very much. There used to be a shop in Streatham where they could be bought, but as far as I know that was the only source in London.

The mutton pie, with its soft top and crisp edge, surely ranks above hot peas and vinegar, although :he top was sometimes filled with peas when the pie was served in a restaurant. Surely, Mr. Hanley, you have nothing against mutton pies!
