Sir: The letter from Mr Stooehouse in your last issue stated that the selection of a new candidate hY the Walsall North Constituency Labour Party has been condemned as being invalid by Transport House. Th15 is incorrect. The selection of Mr David Winnick as the Laboar Party's prospective parliamentary candidate for anY by-election that may take place in the Walsall North constituency has been endorsed by the Nation. Executive Committee and that endorsement still stands. Mr Pitt was one of the unsuccessful nominees at that selection. H. R. Underhill
