We have to acknowledge the second volume of The Globe

(Wopcedia. Edited by John M. Rosa, LL.D. (Thomas C. Jack, Edinburgh.)—The volume includes from " CAN" down to the end of the letter "E." Its special claim is that there is no working-up of old materials, but that all the articles are newly written for the work. Its limits do not admit of an elaborate treatment of the vast subject-matter of a cycle- pa3dia, but we have found it, as far as our examination has tested it, complete and accurate.
