Liberalism and the House of Lords. By Harry Jones. (Methuen
and Co. 7s. 6d. net.)—" The Story of the Veto Battle" from 1832 to 1911 is told in this volume from the Liberal standpoint. The first half of the book is concerned with events before the present Government came into power ; the last half describes the more recent developments of the constitutional crisis. The volume is naturally not of much historical value ; it is written in the vivid style of daily journalism, and no pretence is made at concealing the purely partisan outlook of its author.
