At a very numeeous meeting of the inlishitents of Stepney,

held in the old church on Feiday lae:,—the Rector in the chair,—a church-rate of th/ in the pound was proposed ; to which an amendment of" no rate" was made ; and the latter was carried by an overwhelming majority.
