There is a revealing sentence in a report I have

just read from a Jew who managed recently to leave Germany. He " had the impression that frequently Jews were welcomed by the workers because, in talking to Jews, there was no need to be on one's guard ; for once they could be frank and could grumble to their heart's delight." VERNON BARTLETT.
