DIG success

Sir: In my article on disability published in your issue of April 8, I spoke of DIG's campaign to get the terms of reference of the Attendance Allowance widened so as to bring in chronically sick and disabled people living at home who require attendance by day or night. Owing to a slight lapse of time between submission of my article and its publication, the fact that Sir Keith Joseph announced his intention of changing the terms of reference as from next October was not recorded. To allow this to pass without correction would appear most ungracious on our part and, indeed, conceal the great sense of achievement we now feel in DIG that our brief campaign was so successful.
