The Tennyson Memoir. By A. Patchett Martin. " Vectis "
Literary Supplement. (Silsbury Brothers, Shanklin.)—The "Life of Tennyson" has, of course, evoked a long series of articles and appreciations both of the book and of its subject. ' One of the pleasantest of these is a little pamphlet by Mr. Patchett Martin, who, living himself in the Isle of Wight, deals specially with Tennyson in his Farringford home. Mr. Patchett Martin's work is always welcome ; and since his literary taste was formed in the Greater Britain beyond the seas, it is especially interesting to hear his judgment on the great poet who sang to all English-speaking people alike.
