than announce the appearance of the fourth and concluding volume of this elaborate work. We believe that the preceding volumes have been
favourably received by the profession, indeed the names of the con- tributors are a sufficient guarantee for the worth of the contents. The work has been completed strictly in accordance with the plan an- nounced in the first volume, and concludes with an appendix of mis- cellaneous subjects and a general alphabetical index.
