The work of distributing Bibles in all languages throughout the world still goes on incessantly, as it has done ever since the Bible Society was founded in 1804. An annual report gives the details and figures, but this readable summary will appeal more surely to the average reader. The Society justly claims that it is colour-blind to ecclesiastical differences, oblivious of national and racial distinctions " ; for that reason its colporteurs can go everywhere, except in Bolshevik Russia, and few come to harm.
