THE FORECASTER
SIR,—In your issue of August 14 Pharos states that at the end of the recorded weather forecast which he received on the telephone 'there was a brief but audible guffaw from the forecaster, as if he were tickled at the idea of anyone being so foolish as to consult him.' 1 am sorry to spoil a good story, but the voice on the record was not that of the fore- caster, who simply supplies the text of the forecast
