Half-baked

Sir: I should like to comment on the `nightmare quality' of such sneery articles on women's magazines as Digby Ander- son's CA pinch of ground glass', 14 De- cember). They involve the author in spend- ing a few quid on ingredients at the newsagents, and perfunctorily sifting in order to discover the sections which support her or his prejudices, with distinct- ly half-baked results.
