Pot luck

Sir: I've just thought of a new game to liven up the long dark winter evenings — guess what you are eating for supper from the ingredients description on the pack. For example, I have in front of me a carton from a well-known food manufacturer, and the ingredients are described as follows:

Sugar Medium fat soft cheese Water

Dairy Cream (110/o)

Flour Margarine (contains: colour E160(b)) Cherries Whole egg Animal and vegetable fat Hydrogenated vegetable oil Dextrose Modified starch Salt Citric acid Gelling agent gelatine Acidity regulators E331 E339 Emulsifiers E470 polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate E475 E471 E420 E322 Stabilisers E465 E466 E401 Colours E122 E160(a) Flavourings cherry vanilla

All this ended up as a cheesecake — and, to, be fair, jolly tasty as well. But what else could it have been?
