Some body to love

Sir: It's nice to see The Spectator carrying a piece on astral projection Nut of the body', 10 December), even though Myles Harris may be going down a dead end with his quantum theory analogies.

I once had an unpleasant experience trying it out and was put in touch with the novelist, William Gerhardi, who was an adept at leaving the body (see his novel, Resurrection). 'Why do you do it?' I asked. There was an incredulous silence. `To visit women,' he replied, as if stating the obvious. I saw his point.
