Will of the week

Mr Thomas GIRTIN, of 177 Kingston Hill, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, formerly of 63 Church Street, Old Isle- worth, Middlesex, the writer and wit, who died on May 24th last, left estate valued at £1,033,447 gross, £1,017,773 net. He left £2,500 to the Garrick Club, London, all his annotated art books and manuscript research notes to the British Museum, his other art books as they select to the London Library, his archive photographs to the Courtauld Institute, and his `Girtin relics' to the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.
