Another accident happened on the Great Western Railway, yesterday afternoon.
An express-train was on its way from Exeter to London, and had reached Cuck- held Bridge, about half-way between Maidenhead and Slough, when a luggage-van got off the rails. The train was instantly stopped; but not before the two hinder- wheels of a first-class carriage had also got off the line. The disordered carriages
were soon set to rights, without further The van that occasioned the dan- gerous mishap is of a light kind, with only four wheels, precisely like the one that caused the more disastrous accident on Tuesday. It is said that a different er- n weir-lent will be adopted in future.
An alarming fire broke out at the warehouse of Messrs. Garnock, Bibby, and Co., in Chapel Street, Liverpool, at one o'clock yesterday morning; and before it was subdued, by firemen, police, and military, a distinct half of the building was destroyed. While the fire lasted, it caused the greatest consternation.
