ihrairt nu o The two Italian Operahouses — and indeed the
theatres and pleres of
amusement in general—appear to be now reaping the fruits of the Exhi- bition. We understand that both Her Majesty's Theatse and Covent Garden have overflowing houses every night.
At Her Majesty's, 11 Prodigo has been thrice repeated since its firstpro- Suction. The performance has been shortened by.an -hour at least—partly by a little curtailment of the ballet-dancing and the excision of one or two comparatively unimportant scenes, but chi* by greater promptitude in the working of the machinery, and the accelerated movement of the action. It is now quite within the ordinary compass of a-grand French opera, and is certainly one of the pleasantest works of its class.
At Covent Garden, 'Mario appeared, on Tuesday, in La Favors'ta, and seemed in a great measure to have recovered his strength. Madame Yianlot, who arrived a few days since, is to perform this evening her great part of Fides in the .Prophile ; and Itoneoni, who has also arrived, is to appear in a few days.
