Set by R. Kennard Davis In Caliban's Guide to Letters Mr. Hilaire Belloc,, giving a specimen review of an imaginary poet, quotes " Great unaffected vampires and the moon " as among lines the Anglo-Saxon race will not readily let die." A,prize of £5, which may be divided, is offered for a poem, of not more than 14 lines, introducing this line.
Entries must be addressed to the Spectator, 99 Gower Street, W.C.1, in envelopes marked " Competition," and must be received not later than April 2nd. Results will be published in the Spectator of April 11th.
