Delighted read
Sir: Regarding boring book titles (Letters, 30 April), I don't think one should rush to judgment without at least opening the book. For example, take Modem Pigsticking by Major A. E. Wardrop, Royal Horse Artillery, (published by Macmillan and Co. Limited, St Martin's Street, London, 1914). One look at the dedication, 'To MY MOTHER' (!!) and the opening words of the introduction, 'It is twenty-four years since Baden-Powell wrote his charming book on Pigsticking' and I was all set for a delightful read.
