SIR,—In his first article " Economist " omits to mention that Government control in the War was based on the oft-repeated phrase, " money no object," a temporary necessity resulting, inter alia, in gross profiteering and the rise of National Debt to nearly £8,000 million. We shall no doubt learn from " sub- sequent articles" how control can be effected tinder less ruinous conditions.---I am, Sir, &c., Bournemouth.
