Sir: Has Paul Johnson finally become unhinged? His comparison of

Jacques Delors to Pierre Laval will not be taken seriously by anyone. As for Johnson's end- ing statement, 'We must not let these things happen, even if it means taking to the streets.', is he proposing that the future of Britain should be decided by mob rule? If so, then his cure is worse than the ill- ness.
