COMPOST FOR CUTTINGS Many things that can be propagated by
cuttings are potted up at this time of year. There are various composts, but the main ingredients for cuttings are equal quantities of good leaf mould and fine loam with a good proportion of sharp sand. Slips root best in porous soil where there is little danger of the base rotting, and silver sand is an invaluable constituent of compost for cuttings.
