`We're getting there'
Sir: The day I read the article by Vladimir Voinovich ('Soviet anti-Soviet propagan- da', 24 August), quoting the Soviet slogan 'You're on the right road, Comrade', I opened an envelope from British Rail. It had its own postmark. There was the well-known logo — described, many years ago by Desmond Heap to an appreciative audience of lawyers, as indicating that it did 'not know whether it was coming or going'. Beneath appeared the words, 'We're getting there'. Are Russian advertising agents also obtaining asylum in the West together with their spies, athletes and authors?
