Sir: Mr Barton's cartoon (31 August) is, to say the least, idealistic. Delving into the depths of my memory I can not remember having seen a single telephone directory, let alone four, in a Baker Street kiosk or indeed in any kiosk in England for years. Mr Barton is clearly thinking of another Baker Street or another British Telecom. Adrian Craske
