Watts wrong
Sir: I was much amused to see Mary Soames's remarks (Diary, 4 July) on G. F. Watts's statue 'Physical energy'. My grand- father, Dr Thomas Bond of the Westmins- ter Hospital, was Watts's doctor for many years. He was always pointing out to Watts that his anatomy was hopelessly wrong, and he used to take children to the studio to be used as models. His efforts were useless. Watts's anatomy remained hope- less to the end.
