Sir: Obviously Mr Waugh doesn't have much or he wouldn't be so paranoid at other people finding out about it (8 December).

Guilt-ridden Catholic schoolboys are always a problem as they are more inclined to flagellation and fasting while the rest of us enjoy the more sensual pleasures of life, thereby incurring their wrath. I regret that Mr Waugh doesn't find me attractive — fortunately there are sufficient men who, according to Mr Waugh, are 'insane' but do; so I shall survive.

I am afraid I could never consort with Mr Waugh. He has hairy palms and is shortsighted.
