[To the Editor of the SvEcrAvOn.] think it must have come as a terrible_ shock to many people to find there was anyone in the House of.Commons to " object '! to the passing of the second reading of the Humane Slaughter Bill, last Friday. It seems hardly possible that there could be found any " objection " to slaughtering humanely in a civilized country.—I am Sir, &c., Pinknell House, Colchester. A.
